Since I must be living in a cave, I was not aware of these devices you stand up to get entire body shakes. Online reviews claim some $100 -$350 devices are "good" enough. But is there any benefit to PD patients?
Please share your experience: the Brand and model you use, the regiment you follow, how long have you used it, how long before you experienced any benefit, the program you set the device to, how it helps and for how long the effects last?
Thank you

I have used the Lifepro Rumblex Pro vibration machine for about 6 months. I sometimes use the preset programs but lately have been doing 10 minute daily sessions with all 3 motions activated - vibration, horizontal and vertical at a power setting of 15 ( out of 99).
I do squats and single leg balancing for the most part. I definitely experience a strengthening of the core.
I've seen improvements in my balance primarily, with some benefits related to rigidity and leg tremors.
I also use a vibration plate. I started using one for hip pain and tightness that I was getting, severely affecting my walking. I used it almost every day in the morning or afternoon for 15 minutes and it definitely helped (along with stretching). Lately I don't get much hip pain, but I do get RLS. So, I use the machine almost every night and it also helps prevent this from bothering me. I use the Lifepro also, but a less expensive model that just goes in one plane.
If you check your local resale sites like Craigslist and similar you may be able to get one of these for a lower price- an example of this is a used model listed for $25 on our local craigslist
usually ten minutes and because he also is using other things maybe a little hard to tell but he is doing relatively well compared to the past - I see a message on here that it can help balance and my husband now has very good balance compared to the past so maybe that is a factor
I hadn't really paid attention to the brand of it so I guess I will have to go look at it. We had thought maybe the vibration might help with tremors and possibly balance. When you are doing a lot of remedial things at once it is hard to determine which thing is bringing benefits but my husband's walking , balance, and posture are much improved and his tremors are generally less intense most of the time. He does not take Sinemet. He only takes a small dose of compounded carbidopa with a small amount of mucuna one time a day in the morning when he gets up.
I use one from time to time. It seems to almost immediately reduce my anxiety. Not sure it’s doing anything on a long-term basis, but it sure helps temporarily with anxiety. I got mine on Amazon during a prime day sale so it was about $80.
I have been using the Power Plate for many years. Research shows that it helps people with their balance. My balance is doing really well. I have the pro five for commercial use. I thought that was a better option because I thought it would be like buying a car with the V8 versus more miles for a better device.
Mine has 95% eliminated aching/heavy calves and 50% improved constipation. It also helps calm my nervous system. I've been using it daily for 2 months. The improvements occured in weeks 2-4.
I would recommend a zoom with a coach for a tailored programme suited to your individual goals and capability. Happy to send you details of mine.
I use it several times a day for 2-5 minutes and/or do a longer (10 mins) morning and evening session. I just run it on oscilating mode around 20 speed.
I do a mixture of positions on it, mostly all fours, kneeling, sitting and lying with my calves on it. I am also experimenting with using it like a stepper. I wouldn't be without mine.
