B1 and Vibrating gloves combination

Has anyone had any experience so far with taking B1 HDT together with the vibrating gloves? Are they compatible or would one need to take less B1 when using the gloves?

My WWP has been using the PD Buzzboard gloves for 5 weeks and has been taking 1000mg B1 HCL for several weeks but is finding it difficult to maintain her current dose of dopamine meds (8 x 25/100) as her off times seem to be increasing, not diminishing. Her hallucinations have also substantially increased in the past couple of months.

As of yesterday, we decided to give the B1 a break of a few days to see if this makes any difference.

Incidentally, although it is early days for the gloves, we have noticed an improvement in her walking. She does not shuffle as much and her strides are normal most of the time. Difficult to say though whether this is due to the gloves or the B1.

Best to initiate these interventions one at a time to understand which is doing what. Allow four months for complete response to high dose thiamine.

Thanks Park Bear,

Yes, fully agree although sometimes this is not easy as certain medications and devices such as the gloves can take several weeks and months to fully kick in.

Benfotamine is supposed to be better than reg B1. If she’s taking 25/100 assuming it’s instant release. I would ask the Dr to add some Extended release to help with off times. We do just the opposite we take the extended release 50/200 3xday and take instant release 25/100 2-3 x day ffor ofttimes. Glad to hear about the gloves. Thanks for sharing

Thanks Cowpatti, I will certainly consider your suggestion of using the extended 50/200 more and keep the instant release for the off times. Makes perfect sense.

Incidentally, I have found that if sometimes we are late in giving the dopa meds and the off time kicks in, by adding Mucuna with the 25/100, it seems to kick in a lot faster. Instead of the usual 30 to 45 minutes, it seems to only take 15 to 20 minutes.

I use a powder Mucuna but due to its bad taste, I buy some blank capsules and fill them in with the powder. This way, my wife can easily swallow them without the bitter taste.

I am hoping that as she uses the gloves over the next 3 or 4 months, we will gradually be able to reduce the dopamine medication. I shall keep you all posted.

Hi Mel,

I followed PDBuzzboards videos on YouTube and then got a friend of mine that is more computer and IT savy to help me make a similar pair of gloves. The sequence that PDBuzboard downloaded from the Stanford University is available in the public domain on their website. This is apparently the same original sequence designed by Dr Tass.

Hi Rafiki2, Please, can you give some more details about the gloves? Is DBuzboard a website? Is it enough to be computer and IT in order to be able to make some similar pair of gloves ? Don't you need no other skils? Thank you!

There are a number of videos on YouTube that PD Buzzboard has posted to show how to make the gloves. If one has some experience with computers then it is possible to follow the instructions and make a pair of gloves based on these videos.

So just go on YouTube and look for PD Buzzboard. Good luck with this.

Had a similar experience with my DIY system, which is similar to PD Buzzboard in that it’s 10mm tactors running the Stanford stim pattern, amplitude & frequency. Not on B1, only on C/L 25-100 (2x 4 times/day) & Amantadine. My theory is that it’s from too much dopamine, so I reduced stim duration to slow the effects and reduced CL by 25% per dose and try to vibe without dopamine in my system so i can feel where I’m at before taking the daily dose. It helped. I left the Amantadine in because I figured as much agonist action as possible is a good idea. Id loves to cut it out entirely, but need time to build up dopamine from vibes while trending slowly down on the CL.
