Hi, i have read so many post about the Keto diet being great for PWP but it keeps referring to weight loss, and i cant afford to lose any.

I do believe there is a connection between the gut and the brain. I am jst soooo confused with what to do? I would like to find a healthy diet that will improve my PD symptoms(stiffness, balance) and my general health .

are carbs ok to eat?

are beans carbs or proteins?

cep/porcini mushrooms high in ergothioneine and glutathione. Add that to your food list.

The diet industry is confused but very confident. I eat just about anything and have a BMI of 23. Common sense goes a long way

I read an interesting line once for anybody who wished to improve their health : if it comes in a packet, avoid it. Hard to follow but probably true

You do not always lose weight when on a ketogenic/anti-inflammatory diet. Fat is full of calories. Two whole avocados a day will keep a little plump on your rump. :) I have lost 25 lbs (I had it to lose) but have remained at 130lbs at 5'2" eating no grains, beans, sugar, beef/pork, cow dairy, nightshades, and alcohol (except occasional red wine). I was surprised as I would love to lose 20lbs more but I am consuming a lot of healthy fat through seeds, nuts, oils, avocados, etc. so it is keeping the weight on me. One thing I noticed was that the two women on the Dr Oz episode for the Alzheimers diet were not super skinny. Fat keeps us at a healthy weight.

Who is the speaker. He cites a study and a book but doesn't give source for either one. Can someone list the two sources, please?

A Dr in France conducted study on his own patients on paleo diet.

Book.....Wai freeacnebook.com

Here is the link to the free book. It is worth a read. I am not eating eggs but may add raw egg yolks to my diet for two weeks to see what happens. Even though this diet is for acne, it is really a focus on anti-inflammatory....which is what PwP should be looking into. I will read it and take any useful info I can. Info from many sources is always best....but always read with a grain of salt.

It sounds like we have similar problems. I have modified my diet as a way to help better control my PD. I believe the following dietary changes provided the biggest benefits for me:

1) Eat as much organic unprocessed food as possible. It is the only way to make sure your food is free of pesticides

2) Switch to plant based proteins and eliminate animal based proteins. Organic plant based proteins are easier to digest and are not contain pesticides, antibiotics, hormones etc.

3) Eliminate hard to digest foods. This requires trial and error

Without animal protein you end up eating a lot of carbs.
