Hi, i have read so many post about the Keto diet being great for PWP but it keeps referring to weight loss, and i cant afford to lose any.

I do believe there is a connection between the gut and the brain. I am jst soooo confused with what to do? I would like to find a healthy diet that will improve my PD symptoms(stiffness, balance) and my general health .

are carbs ok to eat?

are beans carbs or proteins?

Beans are mixture of carbs and protein. My preference is for Ketogenic, but Paleo often goes that way anyway.

In my experience Fish is good. Avoid skimmed and semi-skimmed milk. Older and higher fat Cheese seems ok. Wine isn't great. Beer is ok and hoppy better. In moderation.

Avoid sugar.

Keto is severe calorie restriction, i.e., 1,400/day - so everyone loses weight.

Not really - keto can be high fat low carb. So you binge on the cheese and cream.

Paleo, ketogenic and organic. All of the above!

I think for PD sake, Keto that most of us eat is not a "true" keto. It is more about what we are putting in our mouths....not about how many calories. I don't do cow dairy at all. I don't eat beef or pork. There are a LOT of things I no longer eat. I eat a modified diet based on many different books I read. I modified my keto/paleo/organic/anti-inflammatory diet to support PD specifically. I eat lots of healthy fat from seeds, nuts, avocados, oils, etc so I am not going to get super skinny. I consume too many fat calories for that to happen.
