For those that have been vaccinated do you recommend getting the shot on the tremor dominated side or the non tremor side? Thank you.
COVID Vaccine : For those that have been... - Cure Parkinson's
COVID Vaccine
Logically the vaccinator must surely prefer the side which keeps still. Having said that I was vaccinated on the tremor dominant side both times. I don't think it's a big deal
Non-Tremor side. Tremor side already has enough challenges.
Non tremor side for both shots.
I had at least one in my PD side - logic was to have at least one good arm left! The lady said I could have it in my leg but I'd have to take my jeans down - I didn't fancy it in the very public local community vaccination centre but it's worth knowing it's an option.
I had planned on having it in my non tremor side. I was concerned that the constant tremors would make the injection area too sore on the tremors side. However right before I was to have the vaccine I developed tendinitis in the "good" arm! So I went with the tremors side for both shots instead. No big deal at all and I'm tremor dominant.
Seriously??? Just get it!!!
tremor side...dispurses the vacc so your arm doesnt hurt so bad. hang tough.
Tremor side and remember to move your arm around quite a bit after for at least a few hours to reduce pain. An online article and exercises were very helpful. Just look up, “Reduce arm pain after covid 19 vaccination, 5 easy exercises”. I did about 5 reps of each exercise every 15 minutes or so for 3 hours after shot and it really was helpful. My arm was sore, not unlike the flu shot the next day but tolerable and almost completely gone the day after.
