Effects on Parkinson's disease patients chronically treated with L-dopa

L-dopa is the most effective drug used to date for management of Parkinson's disease symptoms. Unfortunately, long-term administration of L-dopa often results in development of motor disorders, including dyskinesias. Despite extensive research on L-dopa-induced dyskinesia, its pathogenesis remains poorly understood

This cited study is basically gibberish.

A much, much better discussion of this issue can be found in Damier (2000) ....Development of dyskinesias induced by treatment for Parkinson's disease: potential role of first exposure to L-DOPA (or phenomenon of priming)

Also: "Effect of non-dopaminergic drug treatment on Levodopa induced dyskinesias in MPTP monkeys: common implication of striatal neuropeptides"
