My meds and DBS don't work well during that week. Stumped my Neuro and really would like to find a doctor who has a sincere interest in younger women with PD. There has to be someone out there

Under Motor Fluctuations and Menstruation my Daily Telegraph Guide to PD by Dr.David A. Grimes says:

"In some women, motor fluctuations may be up to 50 per cent worse for a few days before and duiring menstrual periods. This worsening has been improved remarkably with acetazolamide taken just before and during menstruation." Like everything it ddoesn't work for everyone but worth a go.

Hi. I'm 46 and my symptoms are definitely worse premenstually. My female GP said most women are more clumsy and less coordinated at this time and so she was not surprised that it would be accentuated in PD sufferers but offered no remedy ideas!! It's true for me I always found I was less specially aware etc. premenstrually.
