Thank you, Malayappan. I was already doing a form of intermittent fasting. Now I understand why. I generally have coffee with coconut oil at around 8.30 am. but nothing else until about 10.00 am. Does that, or even plain coffee, break the fast?

Coffee on own ok but not milk or coconut oil to be precise.
That's a relief. I use the coconut oil as part of the keto injunction to load good fats. That can come later in the day. The coffee helps me to start the day. Thank you again. 🙂

That article on the whole misses the main point of IF which is to increase the time our bodies have to repair itself through autophagy, which it's less able to if its constantly digesting from people eating 20 hours out of the day. If they lose weight its because no snacking after dinner or in the middle of the night.14 They can certainly do variations like incorporating Keto or Paleo diets, or shorten the window. The key is to do what works for you and helps your body. My dr approved a certain limit to it, I'm doing very well on a Keto, IF combo of 12 to 14 hour fast each night. No snacking, healthy eating the rest of the time.
