I have been struggling for months to get hold of mannitol and at last I have been given a huge free sample.
How much should I take? I believe it can cause gastric issues, should I start slowly?
Is it like Xylotol? Could I use it as a sugar substitute in cooking ( I make almond flour and egg biscuits, trying to keep to a keto diet)
And lastly, how do I store it? I have read some rather alarming things about it bursting into flame if not stored properly.
I would be grateful for any advice, and also to know what success people have had with mannitol.

I'm 85 Kg and the dose I've been recomended is "not more than 11 grams" ( Clinicrowd ). I started with 5 and reached 11 in 3 days. Had no problems.
I take it during the day in half a liter of water.
It's basically a sugar.
I store it in a plastic bag on a shelf , no problem.
I would not eat something that burst into flames if exposed at air.
About success can't say at the moment if anithyng changed.
Ciao dall'Italia.
