Gabapentin for me is a wonder drug. I am feeling no pain.

I started taking Gabapentin 7 days ago. We increased the dose from 300 mg a day to 600 mg. The standard dose is 1800 mg a day. Today i have very little neuropathy pain in my feet. My feet do not bother me when i cover up in bed . Also my first dose of PD meds (and 200 mg of Gabapentin ) lasted for 7 hours vs 3.5 hours that i have been getting lately . Second dose lasted 5 hours. I had no down time. Just stared to feel stiff after 5 hours so i took another dose.

Also i have no pain. I took a 2 hour nap and woke up stiff but no pain. I will keep y'all informed on how i do in the weeks to come.

I am glad to hear gabapentin is working for you. I knew someone who took the drug and it caused her terrible depression and upon researching gabapentin I found it can deplete a variety of nutrients including vitamin B12, D, folate, biotin.....so supplementation may be required if you continue to take it Neurontin.

So glad Gabapentin is working for you. My husband was on such a high dose for he neuropathy and nothing. They changed to Lyrica and nothing. Sigh. He can't get a break with this pain. He also tried Cymbalta which seemed to do ok but it depleted his salt which landed him in the hospital. I wonder now that he is on Rytary for his PD if Gabepentin it would start working for him?
