I'm a big believer in Chinese Medicine and in their tradition, fasting is helpful for some body types and conditions and not for others. Do you have excess fat to lose? and excess muscle? I've seen people get weak from long fasts and lose a lot of muscle as well as fat.
When you say you've tried everything - if you haven't worked with a herbalist, or a Chinese Medicine doctor, or an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner, then there's plenty of hope yet - all have some excellent herbs and tricks up their sleeves and a good track record with PD.
Fasting induces Autophagy, which is the process in the body that cleans up all the garbage and recycles it into basic useful materials that the body can use. In many cases of Parkinsons, the underlying cause of the disease is improperly folded proteins clumping and forming plaques that choke the dopaminergic neurons. These misfolded proteins are cleared away during the autophagy process, thereby allowing neurons to "breathe" again. It may not bring back dead cells but it can help save the ones you still have. It doesnt exactly REVERSE the disease but its the best chance we have at relieving symptoms and slowing it down, even stopping it.
It has been said that fasting, probably a 3 day water fast, can also clear out all sorts of viri such as covid and the remnants of the covid vaccine, as well as help prevent cancer, since tumors thrive on glucose. Diabetes can even be reversed. The practice of fasting goes back to the days before modern medicine. Even Hippocrates encouraged it.
I think there’s actually a creative aspect to it Bass:
‘intermittent fasting may promote the growth of new neurons in the hippocampus, a brain region associated with learning and memory. This could contribute to improved cognitive……..’
Hi Xenos. While you are wastinbg time on tests or any otrher way to overcome PD, why not try what has been proven to reverse PD? I was diagnosed in 1992 and now, at 89, I am still doing my walking, albeit, rather a lot slower.
Hi John, I appreciate your willingness to help and I tried your method although briefly. I see it as a non trivial way to hide the disease from the neurologist. I'm after more ambitious goals. I can be wrong, of course.
Hi Xenos. I was diagnosewd with PD in 1992 I tyook medication for 2 years wirhout any signs of improvement. I started Fast walkig in 1995 and by 1997 I sho9wed no signs of any movement symptoms! I stay PD Movement Symptom-free as long as I keep up the fats walking.

me too. I had great results from water fasting. 5 days fasting was not enough but 8 days was great and gave me my life back. I have been fasting about 6 years now, but cut down to twice a year recently. I can not say it was a cure, but I am doing much better. I also did yin yoga daily, 3 hours at first, now must an hour, and lithium helped me as well. I asked the doctor about no ability to smell 18 years ago, but now most of my ability to smell is back. He never did a formal test when I asked about it previously. It helped stiffness, pain.
