Swollen tongue: Just wondering if anyone... - Cure Parkinson's
Swollen tongue
I had this once about 35 years ago, and long before PD. It was an allergic reaction. I never did figure out what it was caused by but the medication they gave me at clinic fixed it. They said it could be very dangerous as it could block your airway - so I should carry some Benadryl with me just in case it happens again.
The only time it ever happened to me was during allergic reactions. Once penicillin and the other time yellow jacket stings. I had anti allergic reaction shots for 5 years. I have been stung since with no problem.
I frequently feel hkkuuukl
I had a PD friend say he felt his tongue was too big in his mouth. Dont think it actually was swollen. It went on for quite a while. He thinks his weekly neuro choir sessions have resolved it. He never stopped his meds, if anything he slightly increased them,
This is a late reply to an old post, but an enlarged tongue is a symptom of hypothyroidism and should be checked.
