HRT (melatonin, 6-methoxy harmalin and valentonin) for Parkinson's

I messaged my outstanding neurologist about the PD therapy that seeks to normalize pineal glad hormone levels via melatonin administration and transdermal patches. He kindly took the time to reply via office staff, "familiar with this process....not impressed with the clinical information able to review....Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.'

this is because there is no clinical info to review

Bingo! Give yourself the prize. My neuro is full of himself. :)

This method with the melatonin etc. has all of the appearance of a valid and logical solution. I am a chemist and I know when I see a good bit of science. I am looking forward to getting this patch when it comes out.

The proportions of the hormones are given here: youtube.com/watch?v=rFPNs13...

Roosty1,

I am a believer in the utility of melatonin in PD and have written about it in other posts on this forum, but your link is not working for me to see.

I don't have PD, but found this forum when looking for more info on the patch for treating environmental toxicity. The patent is here: patents.google.com/patent/W... But the formula looks simple. I believe PD and other neurodegenerative diseases often involve toxicity and benefit from detoxification. A man who works closely with chemists and lectures on detox (especially of mercury) for Alzheimer's is Steve Fowkes. Dale Bredesen uses detox for part of his Alzheimer's protocol. Let's try again. In case this doesn't work, its title on Youtube is "Sleep disorders and their treatment (En)" youtube.com/watch?v=rFPNs13...

The uploader is Fonds Josefa. It looks like you can't embed Youtubes here.

This looks like it may be the correct link :

I don't have PD, but I am very interested in things that can help PwP and melatonin is one of those things.

That's it! I have no idea why both my copy/pastes didn't work. According to this video, which is for insomnia, melatonin is one of three hormones needed. I read an article about the inventor which mentioned his using it to treat toxicity in neuro-degenerative disease. I wrote up a 25-page email, full of links, for a neighbor with PD, based on just internet research, but he didn't want to alter his lifestyle, so he got an implant a few months ago, which is helping thus far. I have MS from mercury poisoning and have it pretty much under control. I never took any drugs except low dose naltrexone.

I have been using high dose melatonin for years and reading about it for much longer.

I believe it has very significant potential to improve or protect many areas of health including MS, PD, AD, cancer, the heart and all major organs.

This is what I have written about melatonin on this forum :

Thanks much. I'll read these. I've seen some articles about using high dose melatonin and that it's safe. Dietrich Klinghardt and others use it in liposomal form. One of his staff (I think) wrote a DIY recipe for it, which I've considered trying. However, Dr. Tom Levy, who represents the company that made the original lipo vitamin C, says homemade lipo is not truly lipo, but merely emulsion. I don't know if that's true, or $ speaking, but they use equipment that can bombard the particles into a fine spray. I take a 20 mg capsule every night for sleep. This video says melatonin, alone, doesn't work for insomnia, but I'm getting the antioxidant help, anyway. You likely know some use it for COVID19; it may help protect older patients in the way children are less liable to have a bad case.

Senior citizens produce little melatonin via the pineal gland, even less than infants. Dr. Neel has treated over 1,000 Covid-19 patients successfully with melatonin and in his last update, he said only a handful ever needed to go to the hospital. The effects are rapid in these patients. He doses most of his patients at 1 mg per kg bw, but has gone higher if he feels it is needed. I take higher than that dose every night.

Thanks for this. I've heard of Dr. Neel and will look him up. I see the first link in your writing is about COVID. I made up a COVID protocol for myself, a Frankensteinian pastiche of various protocols including melatonin. It looks like I'd take about 59 mg. on Neel's protocol. May I ask what form/brand you use at what intervals? I'm wondering if large doses throw off the ratios of valentonin and 6-Mh needed for natural sleep, per the sleep video, and if the larger melatonin doses should be confined to waking hours. I'm rethinking my use of 20 mg. at night.

I am currently taking 3 different types of melatonin to reach my current dose, a sublingual, an instant release and a timed release with B-6 in it. I take it all at night roughly one hour before bed, but occasionally split the melatonin into three doses to try and improve sleep . I think it is mainly used during the day for fast moving diseases such as cancer and ALS.

Thank you. Fascinating. I've found more on the patches. I've yet to go through your links, so please forgive if I repeat things you already know. I found the reference to the patch in an article about the inventor, who is reportedly involuntarily incarcerated in a psychiatric hospital, ostensibly because of the patch: granthshala.com/europe/a-pr... Because of my interest in combating toxicity, I looked further. I found a few links, so far, which includes videos, none of which I've watched, one of which concerns PD:

valentonine.fr/en/discovery...

valentonine.fr/en/temoignag...

fonds-josefa.org/en/

Hopefully, his incarceration will not affect the use of the patch.
