Any idea what the idea of melatonin is? Is it supposed to put you to sleep? That's what I use it for, - if I wake at night early enough to think that I might not get back to sleep again.
But with this coronoaryvirus thing, apparently Melatonin is one of the wonder drugs (lol) everyone is talking about
Here is a link to a thread on this forum about what melatonin does in Covid-19 as well as a doctor who is using it successfully in his Covid-19 patients. I update it regularly.
Yes, I had seen that andother similar postings. Which is why I asked what a drug produced internally by the body to put the host to sleep is supposed to do with corona virus or PD patients. Is it supposed to put the patient to sleep?
It can help a person to get to sleep, but in terms of Covid-19, when used at high dose as Dr. Neel is using in his patients, it has many positive effects that can help to ameliorate the multiple negative effects of the disease and apparently prevent or lessen the chance for the cytokine storm and pneumonia. Dr. Neel reports patient improvement in 24 hours after the first dose and none of his patients have gotten the cytokine storm or pneumonia which means no need for a ventilator and these are three things about covid-19 that have resulted in death in some patients.
Thanks Art, I didnt understand that it is used to treat patients who are in desperate condition, and therefore, it doesnt matter that the main/side effect is sleep
Yes and now scientists understand that getting enough sleep can improve the immune response, so melatonin may help in that sense along with its Covid-19 specific effects.
