Mucuna

I have read a lot about mucuna and was thinking of taking one pill instead of my 4:00 siminet to see if it helps. Has anyone tried this with good results. Right now I take 25/100 siminet 4x daily.

One pill may not have any effect. It all depends on the percent of Mucuna the capsule contains. I've tried 15% extract; 40% extract; now 98% extract. If you take capsules, understand that the stomach much dissolve the capsule to get to the mucuna. If you use capsules, separate them and pour the powder directly into water or Almond milk, NOT DAIRY. Your body will use the mucuna much faster.

If you are planning to get the most benefit from Mucuna, you need to take the EXTRACT. I am currently taking 98% Mucuna Extract powder purchased from powdercity.com/products/muc... It is cheap pure l_Dopa, the natural approach to Dopamine. I've been on the drug ropinirole until it didn't work for me any longer. I went through all the withdrawal that everyone goes thru getting off drugs. I will NOT do that again!

I've been on Mucuna Pruriens extract for 7 months now and the amount of the 98% extract I take is 1/2 tsp. in Almond milk, sweetened with stevia (tastes like a milk shake!) about a half hour or 45 minutes before I want to sleep. Even though Mucuna extract has no taste, it seems to settle in my stomach better with the Almond milk. DO NOT USE dairy!! This amount I take gives me four hours solid sleep. It wears off after four hours and I must get up and repeat the above dosage. I get another four hours sleep.

It's possible that more will last longer. You must experiment to see what you (or the patient) can tolerate. But this is what I am doing. In the studies I read, the subjects give Mucuna were given a much larger dose than I take.
