I’ve had recurring pericarditis for almost 7 years. I’m treated as having an autoimmune disease as if I have rheumatoid arthritis. I have “flare ups” almost every month, or 6 weeks at the longest. Every time I have a flare I use a medrol dose pack to get the pain back under control. I’ve tried prednisone, cholchisine, methotrexate, and now currently take neoral. We have tried IVC therapy and other holistic treatments as well. My wife and I are at a loss for what to try next.
