Currently waiting to see if have Crohn’s. I’ve had a perianal abscess and fistula for 2 months now. 2 ops - first to put silicone seton in, then second to put silk one in as other came too loose and uncomfortable. Just been back up to surgeons as abscess back as bad as ever. He squeezed it and enlarged the cut to get the pus out whilst examining me without telling me what he was going to do and without any pain relief. It was excruciating! However it has relieved the pain a lot but is this normal! Should I just be grateful the pain relieved? I feel a bit in shock now.

hello Gingerpain no I don’t think this is normal I believe every procedure should be explained to you before you receive it so you can prepare yourself I’m glad your pain was relieved but if it felt wrong to you then it probably was trust yourself and don’t be afraid to say so 🤍
