Feeling isolated
Hi Pte12Sorry to hear that you are feeling so isolated and down. IBD is very difficult to come to terms with, and let's face it frequent trips to the toilet can be very embarrassing and your self esteem is at rock bottom, we all have these times, especially when we are having a flare up. We can feel worthless, unable to cope, but there is help out there, talk to your GP, and tell them how you feel, you are not alone feeling as you do, I've been there, give in to your bad days and make hay on the days that aren't so bad.
We have to carry on, so please talk to your IBD team, they will be able to help.
Take care.
Thanks very much for your support just feeling a bit lonely at moment tried to speak to friends at church yesterday they said they didn't have time to talk felt so isolated then came home and ended up just putting tv on and went to bed but woke up needing toilet for 4 hours
Totally understand the feeling, been there before. The biggest problem I think is the lack of knowledge about the disease, plus some folks don't want to discuss stomach & bathroom issues. I was diagnosed 21 years ago, at first my family real concerned, but when it came time for us to get together to go out & eat all I heard was well can you eat. We could go here or there but it may not agree with your gut. It seemed like everything hinged on me, I didn't like that feeling. To be honest, when I am not feeling good, I'd rather be left alone.
My family just keep telling me that I'm not poorly went out last week for a meal on my own and ate half my fish and chips then couldn't eat anymore due to my stomach hurting then today went out shopping and felt ill in morrisons didn't get most of what I wanted came home feeling lousy again
On errand days try to do the most important ones first & then break up the rest on other days. Doing it this way is not so taxing, plus it will get you out of the house a little more. I love being outdoors, I start my mornings early so I can be outside when the birds wake up. Try to find yourself a hobby that you enjoy, for me it's watching & listening to birds. The people behind me have a huge tree so the squirrels are a lot of fun to watch. Sometimes it's the simple things that can uplift us.
I enjoy going for Long walks plug my headphones I'm forgot the world then call in a nice cafe for a cuppa and cake then back walking again I've been known to walk for hours without thinking about crohns for once
I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with your Crohns and seemingly not able to get it under control. There is no doubt it can definitely be trying at times but hope and pray you can get it under control and into remission
I'm.just having a few bad weeks only thing keeping me going is my never ending supply of cricket books and playing trivial pursuit sports edition but feeling low stomach hurting at bedtime again sometimes think god is trying to test me but I know in the end he'll see me to a cure
