Has anyone experienced hives while on Humira? I’ve been on it since August 2020 and over the last 2 months I keep getting flare ups of hives on my face, arms and legs.
First I thought it was food related so I’ve been doing an elimination diet but this hasn’t helped at all, the only other thing I’m wondering if it could potentially be is the covid booster.
I’m just at my wits end, I’m so itchy all of the time and it’s driving me mad.
Thanks

Does the hives go away or are they constant? Have you spoken with your dr about this? Another thought is have you tried an antihistamine? I never had this issue when I was on Humira.
I am not on Humira (I am on Octasa) but I have pancolitis diagnosed when in a flare last October. Recent calprotectin is 40 and doubt I am still in a flare as BM not too bad any more, however I got a bad case of hives in Feb and having sent image to GP surgery they asked me to go see them and gave me 5 days of Prednisolone (30mg) and the old style antihistimes (like piraton) 4 times a day...A week later although first rash went down I got another one - just on my leg! Again, sent image to GP and they told me to change to 1 a day antihistamines which I did. Rash did subside, but was still itchy... it is now almost a month and like you, I am still itchty although taking an antihistamine helps. I did ask gastro and they said skin problems are more likely when in a flare! They suggested I think about seeing a dermatologist... I asked if Octasa could be the culprit but again, no definitive answer to this as have been on my meds 6 months. Like you, I have been keeping a food diary but cannot see a link anywhere.
Thought I would share as I do think there is a link; problem is waiting lists to see consultants are very long so I may just have to pay if it continues to see a dermatologist to throw some light on it. Do keep us updated...x
