Hello. I have been having aching which starts from just below diaphragm all the way down to hips. Calprotectin score was 512. The dr has referred me to gastroenterologist and he is going to perform a colonoscopy soon. He believes either UC or Crohns disease.
I had a CT scan and there was no signs of abnormality. Does this mean that there is no UC or Crohns disease in your experience?
Thank you

Hi. IBD doesn't show up on a CT scan so it could still be that. My Crohn's wasn't found until I had a pill camera procedure as it's in my small intestine. So your colonoscopy may also come back clear. The scan you had would have been to rule out cancer first. I hope you get sorted soon, diagnosis can take ages unfortunately x
Thank you so much. I have been trying to read and obtain information but think I have read too many articles now! They all contradict each other. I prefer real people with their real stories. It makes me realise I am not alone and all peoples symptoms can be unique along with the way they diagnose.Thank you once again. X
Thank you. My colonoscopy showed both signals of UC and Crohns. Not likely to be both and the consultant is now sending me for MRI scan. He thinks more likely Crohns so has prescribed Pentasa and will speak to me after MRI . I must admit, I didn't know it would take time to diagnose but am pleased progress is being made as the pain is intense. We will get there eventually. X
Hello. My symptoms initially were just having to run to the toilet in morning and a few cramps. This was for about 3 weeks. The cramps turned into pain under diaphragm and running down each side of my abdomen. I hope this helps.
