Hi,

I have taken Imuran/azathioprine for 3 years for my autoinflammatory condition and felt 100% better. YMe and my doctor decided I could then stop the medication. I kept feeling no symptoms for extra 3 years after stopping Imuran.

This year I started to flare again. I am back on Imuran for now almost 3 months and I am still flaring.

I remember last time it took around 3 months too kick in, but my doctor seems to feel like it is taking too long.

My question is: has anyone ever stopped Imuran and then reintroduced? Did it work the second time?

I have been feeling quite anxious about this. If anyone has any info on reintroducing Imuran its effectiveness, I would be really grateful.

Sorry to read that you are flaring. Imuran is a slow starter for sure but I think you should listen to your dr. Where it may have worked well before that doesn't guarantee if will work again. Discuss other options with your dr, you don't want this to get out of hand.
