Crohn’s but constipated???

Was diagnosed with crohn’s in September 2018, been on and off Azathioprine due to side effects. Had no crohn’s drugs since may, been really constipated for weeks now despite taking senna, awaiting MRI scan. Anyone had similar problems?

Have been and am still constipated, do not seem to be able to get a dose of Azathioprine and a form of roughage balanced. As I also have a front hernia, I always look about 8 months pregnant.

I am 67 and have had this since I was 35, so all sorts of tests, scans etc. Also 3 surgeries although not a colostomy yet. Cannot have the hernia dealt with until next surgery needed as Consultant says that handling the intestines, can trigger a flare in the area they handle. So I live with where I am at. It was much easier when I had steroids for a flare, and a maintenance med. but they wanted me off the steroids all together (I have already lost nearly 3" in height) but this means living a weird existence.

Sounds like you have been through the mill as they say, hope you get some sort of relief soon, can’t believe you have lost so much height, is it because crohn’s has affected your bones? Xx

It is the steroids, they result in thinning bones, prednisolone the main treatment when I was first diagnosed. Ht mainly lost in spine.
