Hi.

That would definately indicate a flare up of IBD. have you had a diagnosis?

Really confused as I have had gastroscopy, colonoscopy, mri of small bowel and apart from multiple polyps on gastroscopy all results are normal, saw consultant last week and he said its 90% either Crohns or UC,had blood taken and that is normal, did repeat poo sample today, he said I would need a repeat colonoscopy in 3mths depending on new calprotectin results.

A high level on this test could mean different things. Indeed it can indicate Crohns or Colitis.

A bacterial infection, parasites and colorectal cancer can also cause a high reading on this test.

You will unfortunately have to wait it out to see what your colonoscopy results are. Sounds like since you mentioned your doctor was 90% it’s was IBD then most likely that is what’s it is, but your doctor wants more results before giving an official diagnosis.

Hoping things move fast as the sooner your diagnosed the quicker you can get treated.
