what next .....

I have had crohns for some twenty years , plodding on with flare ups occasionally which were generally treated with steroids or a short stay in hospital .

I am on Humira and Methotrexate which until the last six months has kept me generally stable .

Now it appears i need another re-section of the bowel , I had an emergency re- section some twenty years ago leaving very little colon left .

I have been advised to prepare myself for the operation not being successful and having to have a illeostomy . I am generally ok with this but deep down i feel very scared and am unsure of how i will cope .

Advice from others would be appreciated .    No recognised support group in my area . feeling alone .......

Hi, my bro has an ilieostomy, and says its the best thing he did! he keeps telling me to have the op, but Im not ready. I wish you all the best, stay strong xxx

Not sure i am really ready but it maybe taken out of my hands .

I think strong is something you have to be with Crohns , I won't let it beat me . x
