So my knee hurt on last run so I rested and iced, today it was fine and now my calves really hurt! New pain every run ATM :-(

Hi Samiah,

I am new to this site and have been doing C25K since January... slowly with more breaks in between than the suggested 3 times a week. I think doing warm up exercises are the key and gradually your body gets used to it. Experienced runners are always complaining that something hurts!

Hi Samiah, not sure what week you are on but its quite common to get aches and pains when you first start this running programme, more so if you are not used to exercise. So long as the aches are not severe you should be fine. Try running cold water over the painful area after your run when in the shower, that helps to reduce any inflamation, if its really bad ice it. If you need to take an extra day off from running, walking is good and will help you build up some stamina. Good luck, and remember what they say "no pain, no gain" If it aches a bit it means you have worked hard.

Thank you for your advice, as much as possible is welcome :-) I am on run 3 of week 3 now. Calves hurt bad today, more so when walking.
