What distance should I be running?

I haven't downloaded the podcast and just starting week 3 tonight. The thing is, I have been runing the same distance which is 3 kilometres and it dawned on me that perhaps the distance I'm running is incorrect. Is 3k ok?

Distance really doesn't matter - although the programme is called c25k, it seems that about half of people getting to the end of week 9 are still running a total of 4k or less, (I only got to just over 3k, but have since gone on to 6k) and go on to run 5k afterwards. The programme will take you to running for 30 minutes, so the distance is however far you get in that time. :)

Thanks Greenlegs. I realised it might have been a daft question as it is supposed to be 5k but after reading some of the blogs/questions I wondered if I was missing out by not listening to Laura.

Not a daft question at all - lots of people get into a bit of a frazzle thinking they need to be going fast enough to do 5k in 30 minutes, but if our legs aren't ready for that pace, a slower one is fine. Better to be going slowly, and off the couch, than to give up, or end up injured.
