The oddest ache...

Good evening fellow runners, I had a lovely run on Sunday and ran non stop for 50 minutes (slowly). I was very very happy with this. Amazing!! I've not ran anywhere since age 12! Going to just gradually increase my weekly 'long slow run' and do a 30 min faster run each week (Parkrun when I can) plus one intervals...

So this evening despite the bitter wind I set out for the 'speed session'. The first time I ever did this session I hurt my ankle and I've avoided since then, so was a bit wary but after some initial stiffness I was okay and off. I actually managed to 'run to the beat' this time as was completely confused last time!

The session felt okay and easier than the first time - probably because I didnt have a bad ankle this time and was running on the road not the grass.

After the session finished I decided to slow run my warm down, as I was still quite a way from home, so slowly jogged home. It was up hill and I swear I was jogging on the spot for a bit but I was smug barry to be able to run after the speed session at all!

So my weird ache... when I got home, my tounge ached. I dont know if I was breathing funny - I defintely wasny talking, singing or snogging! It still feels abit odd now!

Anyone else had odd aches??!

great to hear that you are able to get back out there & run again :) cant comment about the ache though. perhaps it was the cold air & you were trying to move your tongue out of the way when breathing in??? congratulations on the 50min run :) x

Brilliant you've got back out there and you did a brilliant run too! To hear you say you've run for 50 ---FIFTY--- minutes just astounds me at this stage! Wow!

Like Shelley, don't know about your tongue problem either, But I wonder if you ran with it sticking out in concentration for that last determined push up hill??!! ;-)

Hope it sorts anyway for your next run :-)

Ali :-) x
