Since I am attempting the program for a third time (due to an injury and personal family set-backs that have now been resolved), I've been doing my runs on the treadmill. The first two program attempts were all outside runs. For my third program attempt, and because of when I started this time around, the treadmill was safer.
I have to say my Week 4 runs were somewhat more difficult than I remembered. My first two runs this week had me thinking that both the three and five minute runs were going to just about kill my lungs. So, during my second run, I slowed down and got more of a grip on my breathing. The upside: my third run today went better than expected. Maybe sometimes it's a mind trap that we get ourselves into before we give ourselves a chance to succeed!
Still, I can't wait to run outside. Personally, I enjoy that more so than on the treadmill...I feel I can enjoy my run and not feel sort of "trapped" and waiting anxiously for Laura to say that I only have one minute left of a run segment (the gym's interior happenings pale next to the outdoors, I guess). I'm also debating whether I will repeat Week 4 runs again...I think I will...want to feel truly comfortable before going on to Week 5.
