I'm still running (sung to the tune of 'I'm still standing')

I haven't blogged for so long but that's changing. I've been running regularly, despite having knee problems and having lost my expensive running shoes ) : I stopped using them as I had a recurrence of soft tissue problems above my toes, and went back to my trusty, at least 4 year old Hi Tecs. My knees are up and down(!!!),the left in particular, but strangely, they don't normally hurt once they've 'warmed up'. Last Friday, I ran 3.47 miles with my daughter who's training for a half marathon. She was much quicker than me, so, for me, it was a fast run. When she left me to carry on a bit further, I had a few yards to do but my left knee was quite painful. She thinks I shouldn't run, but I like the fact that I go out, run, come home, and it's done.Any road up, I thought I'd try my new trainers again, and they've disappeared! I can't think where I can have left them. I'm going crazy trying to find them, so I may have to give up running for a while, and spring clean the house in case the dog has hidden them!

I love the idea that your dog has hidden your trainers. :) Maybe the dog is trying to protect your knees?

Daughter has not borrowed them or hidden them as well as the dog!

Isn't it obvous what has happened? Your new shoes came home, all keen and eager to do what they were born to do - run. But you spurned them. You took your old friends out instead.

You've simply hurt their feelings. They've run away from home (ouch - bad pun!) in search of someone who will appreciate their finely honed lines and fresh-smelling insoles. At best, they're hiding their shame in a quiet corner.

The solution is simple. Head to your council's trainer pound. They take in stray shoes and find new homes for them. But do it quickly, before your shoes find a new owner and you become a faded memory!

Thank you!!! I went to the council's trainer pound and they're not there! They reported me to the Trainer Protection League and I've been banned from buying trainers until I can pass a test showing that I've learned my lesson!
