.. testing, testing, 1,2,3 - it's been a while since I've been on here and my blogging skills are just as rusty as my leg muscles. Despite not blogging much lately I've read this forum every day and it seems a lot of us graduates have recently managed to peel ourselves from the couch back to the roads & paths, pounding them and wondering why we stopped running. For me I had a lot on in my life from November, then I contracted flu with an addition of hand, foot and mouth disease which was really serious & suspected meningitis which turned out to be really bad immune system because of the combined flu & HFMD and severe dehydration - this resulted in my runs being sporadic. Also the dark nights and mornings just put me off. I've started running properly again, building myself up to fitness after being ill and I'm managing 20 minute runs, I'm working my way back up to 30 minutes slowly.
I invested in a long sleeve running top today and some running gloves so I was toasty when running this evening. I also ran today without music for the first time ever and I didn't do too badly - average KM = 6 min 40 sec. I will improve but even running is good and I'm not too hung up on stats at the moment.
It's good to be back & thank all of you for keeping me motivated over the past few months, your blogs remind me how much I love running and want to keep it up.
Happy jogging folks!
