I try a d run Sat and Sun as they are non work days and I can therefore run in daylight. Then try and run Tues and Thurs in the week. So a little more frequent tan the schedule but still 3 rest days a week.
When I can I try to run on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday because then I have Friday and Saturday where I can do what I want without having to worry about fitting in a run
i always run Tuesday, Friday and Sunday due to work commitments. Monday is a gym day and Thursday is zumba, which give me Wednesday and Sat off. I like the routine of it and knowing that i dont have to feel guilty when i have my rest days. I think you should maybe plan your week and work out which days are better for you to run and stick to them as best you can. Thats the good thing about this plan that you can fit it into your life, no waiting for gym opening times.
Good luck with your journey the plan really does work xxx
I started it by working out when I could fit three runs into my normal week - and since I had to make time specially, they were the only options (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday). Since the new year, I've been a bit more flexible - partly because circumstances have changed, and partly because now I know I enjoy running and *want* to be able to fit it in, so both I and Mr Rainbow will work other things around it a bit more.
I've changed my days now to Tuesday, Friday, Sunday, so that I can do Pilates on a Wednesday... I've not been quite so good at making sure I always manage three runs a week, although I do generally try to; sometimes family life just gets in the way, though.
I think I'm a bit unusual in not having particular run days - it has worked for me to just do alternate days run or rest so far, though I might change to having specific days for running. It does seem to make sense to know which days need to have time for running, for planning ahead.
I run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday after work... I also do Karate for an hour on a Thursday evening. I like having set days because it reduces my urge to say "well if I don't go tonight I'll do it tomorrow"
We ran Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday then had two rest days before the new week. We liked having the extra days recovery to prepare mentally and physically for the challenges of the new week. Gayle
