Anyone running round a track - how far is it round the outside lane please?

I've discovered a local running track and have used it a couple of times now. I know the inside lane is supposed to be 400 meters but when I look on the web for the distance around the outside lane the answers vary. Is it about 450 meters? - I thought it was 500m and have probably miscalculated my recent runs!

  • If I have read this correctly, then lane 8 is 53.03m longer than lane 1.

  • That makes the outside lane 453 metres then. Thanks for that. I can now try and calculate my track runs better before I invest in a Garmin!
