And there were fireworks..!

After no running for 3 weeks I have finally been out and completed one. Having hurt my ankle I started walking at the weekend and decided that today would be the day I got back to it.

I got back from work, made sure I changed immediately, sorted out Laura so she was ready and off I went. Decided to start back at Week 3, I was on Week 5 when injury struck. It was easier than I thought - yes my ankle hurt a bit but not too bad and the doctor said I should run through the pain. My stride felt a bit odd, can't quite put my finger on it maybe I was a bit tense or looking after my ankle a bit.

Well the first 90 second run was over almost before I'd started it and the rest of the run went well, I added a 10 minute cool down after Laura had finished too.

As I returned to my house the people in my local area were even letting off fireworks to celebrate my achievement! (Or they may have been for some bloke called Guy, I'm not sure!) But I am thrilled, I'm back on the programme and eager to get out again. Think I'll do another week 3 run and then try week 4 again. Going to have a couple of days rest so I don't overdo the ankle but YAY TO ME I can run again :-)
