I've discovered a new muscle ...unfortunately. My TFL (Tensor Facia Latae). I'm currently mildly sore over the front crest of my left hip.
Fortunately I've found what I hope will prove to be some very good advice so I'm passing it on

Sorry to hear this KANdoit and hope you manage to treat it ok; sounds painful.
Its amazing how much medical knowledge of my body I am now getting as a result of this running lark.....
I've had loads of trouble with this and it has contributed to ITB problems too as well as pain in my abdomen that I thought was a stitch or pulled rib muscle.
If you sit a lot at work try to do stretches to loosen it up every day. The yoga "pigeon" pose is good, as is "warrior". My chiropractor also suggested one where you stand with legs spread, raise one arm, bent at elbow at right angle, then lean back and twist around gently until you feel the stretch and hold it.
Good luck.
