Slow!!!

hello everyone, back blogging after a couple of very busy weeks have kept me away from the keyboard.

Have made it to week8 run 2 and used GPS to track my run and kind of wish I hadn't! I ran for 28 mins and only covered 2.97k!!!

Am I too slow?

Did you pass a snail or two? Then there is no such thing as to slow. :-) you are doing great!! Only a few more runs, soon to be graduate! If it makes you feel better, I have 2 runs left and not near the 5K mark.

I think the snails pass me! I'm really pleased that I can run for 28mins & do feel that I can carry on for longer but was surprised to discover that I hadn't covered a longer distance, it certainly feels like I have.

If I think back, 9 weeks ago, I struggled to run for 1 minute and the first week of this plan was such hard work, so I've come a long, long way and am v pleased! One step at a time!

Well done you too, we'll be graduating pretty close together :)

Don't you worry about how "slow" you may be, as the divine Laura says, a light jog is sufficient! I was (and still am) slow, it took me several weeks after graduating to get 5k under my belt, took about 45 mins, but I am getting a bit faster and have now built up my confidence to the point where I have done two 10k races now and can keep going for around 1 hr 45 on my longer training runs, and enjoy both!

Well done on your progress, and keep it up!

I think we are probably running at about the same pace - sometimes I wonder if I should be running faster but like you I found it so difficult at the start that I'm just focussing on the 30 minutes and then I'll focus on increasing the pace.

Good luck :o)

well done. It is tough not to agonise over being slow. My first 5k (sunday) took 45 minutes, Next goal is to increase my speed. Just keep going and remember how far all of us have travelled together.

So what! You ran for 28 minutes. That's brilliant. I'm on week 8 too and am making myself take it slowly. Better to do the minutes, the distance can wait. You'll soon be a graduate.
