If you feel like your bottom trails 10 mins after you...if you feel tired and lethargic all the time...then you are me on 11th July, 2012 before I started this programme on 12th July, 2012. I graduated a couple of weeks ago and could not believe that this programme was possible, but Laura did me good and I encourage you to have a go too.

this link explains it week by week nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...

Laura is the lady who talks you through the podcasts, tells you when to walk/run etc and gives you hints tips and encouragement!

I can well understand your apprehension but if you dont try it you will never know!

If it is of any help, I had 6 stones to lose just over a year ago. I was walking every day with my dog, but not far or fast. I lost about 3 stone with Weightwatchers before plucking up the courage to start C25K.

Other WW members had done it, some still with a lot of weight to lose. Although I was 50 and hadnt run since leaving school I figured it might work for me!

Once I started I found it brilliant (challenging but achievable!).

If you don't do much walking now, it might be a good idea to start walking more first over a few weeks. When I started WW I bought a cheap pedometer which helped me get moving more and soon got me walking the 10,000 steps a day that is recommended for good health.

Good luck x

Your post made me decide to write up my own experience so far. It's called "C25K with international travel." Starting is indeed a daunting prospect, but it really is worth it!

I live in the U.S. and over the past year have lost close to 40 pounds with weight watchers. Not sure how many stones that would be? I would suggest GO FOR IT! There is no such thing as going to slow...you may even need to brisk walk the running segments, but you are off the couch, doing something. You will be amazed at your progress from day to day if you follow the program. I went from not being able to run a full minute to going out last night and doing a 25 minute run! I never, ever dreamed I could do such a thing at the age of 49 and not liking to exercise! also, some people find taking their measurements prior to starting the program a big motivator as well. Good luck to you and I hope you decide to join us!!! :-)
