Hi, Newbie here, thought it was time to say 'hello'. I completed W3R2 yesterday and found it and R1 really challenging having to run for 3 mins but I really am enjoying my running (I'm finding it a bit addictive!) and love reading all your blogs for inspiration. What seems to help me get through the runs are to think of some memorable running quotes, Hurler 31 had one yesterday 'pain is just weakness leaving the body'. My favourite ones are "if it does not challenge you, then it does not change you' and 'sweat is just fat crying' and I was wondering whether anybody else had any favourite quotes to get them through when the going gets tough.

Inspirational Quotes?
Hi there, my inspirational Aunty (86 years young) always says 'if you don't use it, you lose it'. This can apply to everything in life, but in this case I apply it to the sore bits of my body as I trundle along! Good luck with your running!
Here's one:
"Remember you descended from a long line of ancestors that did out run the lion"
My mantra as I jog along is 'I'm a Kenyan on the inside!' Makes me laugh as it is hard to imagine anyone who looks less like a Kenyan runner!
These have made me laugh. I just finished my W3R3 run thinking of myself as a Kenyan runner trying to outrun a lion! It's amazing how these little quotes help to motivate. I guess it's all about the power of the mind over the body.
"sweat is just fat crying" has just made me choke on my dinner! hilarious! One I like which has particular relevence to this programme is "No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch". I also used to belong to a gym who used "Les Mills" fitness classes. They had loads of good ones including "Pain is temporary: quitting lasts forever" and "when your body screams, tell it to shut up!".
