C25K W1R1- Feeling good... kinda

As a professed "I don't do running exerciser" who avoids the treadmill in the Gym like the plague, I was surprised that I became inspired by the C25K plan and this forum whilst on a night shift. It's nice to know that people from all physical fitness levels can start this programme. Before I knew it I was donning my gear and as soon as I got home I was right back out the door again- leaving behind a very confused BF.

Pretty fatigued and dehydrated (lots of coffee drinking during the nightshift) but I did okay taking a bottle of water with me. The run itself wasn't too bad, I took it REALLY easy in the jogging parts and was just thrilled that I managed to keep my feet on the ground for more than 3 sets.

Theres something comforting about being told what to do by Laura and knowing that you won't be pushing yourself too fast, too soon. Ended up so fixated on going forward I forgot to turn around halfway through the run though, doh! Ended up finishing on the far side of the lake, lovely 1.6 mile walk home at 8am tehe :D

  • That sounds like a very enjoyable start to the program, well done !

  • Thanks, definatly went better than previous attempts at running!

  • Sounds like a great start! I surprised myself too by being interested in this programme but now I am a total convert. Carry on carrying on!

  • It's very well designed and the forum helps because you realise that there are people with all sorts of people with physical health and home issues. Proper British attitude and carry on regardless I say!

  • What a lovely way to finish your night shift! Did it help you to sleep or did you feel energised after it? Agree completely with you, re Laura! Good luck.

  • I felt energised and hyper, luckily it was my last nightshift so it wasn't so much of an issue, just grabbed a nap in the Afternoon. Am thinking it's a great idea before a night though! Thanks for the support!
