Hi Not started yet but hoping to do on a cross trainer. Do you run every day? Where does it tell you how often to run? Thank you

download the podcasts from here http ://nhs.uk/livewell/c25k/Pages/.... I don't know how it would work on a crosstrainer but you could do it on a treadmill. Run three times a week. You might find one of my earlier blogs helpful too couchto5k.healthunlocked.co...

Thanks for swift reply happierswimming. I read one of your blogs with tips on yesterday and have saved it to inspire me when things get tough!

After procrastinating for weeks and posting my first message earlier today I decided I'd have to actually get up off my b*m and do it or I would feel a fraud. So (drum roll please!) I've just completed W1 R1!! Had to use my inhaler as soon as I came in but I can't believe I did it!!

I know I won't be able to run on Monday due to work commitments so do you think Tuesday would be leaving too much of a gap or should I run tomorrow?

Thanks for any replies

Go on Tuesday. It's a minimum day's rest rather than a maximum, and the plan is based on three sessions a week so if it fits their schedule, lots of folks here will have two consecutive rest days (they may do non-running exercise) - or if you are going really well, you may find you complete in under 9 weeks!

Yes, wait until Tuesday. If you make running fit in comfortably with your other commitments, you are more likely to stick with it.

I'm not sure about doing it on a cross-trainer - it would still be good for fitness but I'm not sure it will help you with running outside. It's one of the activities you can do on a "rest" day, as it is non-impact.

Congratulations on getting started ! :-)
