I know this sounds like a daft question, but are we supposed to run every other day in which case do 4 runs at each level some weeks, or can we take a two day break at one point in the 7-day week? In other words, I did W1R1 on Monday, R2 this morning and will do R3 on Friday. Do I start week 2 on Sunday or Monday?

I do my runs Mon,Tue and Fri and take the weekend off and go back to Monday, this is mainly because I can't fit a run in on Tuesday, so this works out best for me.
As long as you have rest days I dont think that it matters. I normally do day on, day off but due to the inconvenience of work! I had monday and tuesday off tthis week and will run today. So I would say start week 2 on either sunday or monday, whatever works best for you.
I normally run Mon/Wed/Fri & take two days rest at the weekend but when things crop up & I have re-jigged & run at the weekend in order to catch up.
I found it best for me to run every other day as then i never had to make a decision - i get up - it is either a running day or a not running day - and i just do it.
When i did it once before and gave up well before the end i sort of felt there was a choice every time as to whether today was the day i could take an extra day off. This way for me feels so much better - and i am loving it - and now feeling some days that i want to run everyday but I don't. I have just finished W8R3 so am very chuffed. i have never managed to do anything regularly so just doing this is a major event for me.
I think you can make any decision you want on the 3 or 4 times a week thing - as long as you have at least one day off between each run and it works for you.
