Calf muscle still won't let me run so I've been digging around for more info. Came accross this site home.sprynet.com/~holtrun/h... and in particular home.sprynet.com/~holtrun/s... looks to be quite useful

Really hope you feel better soon!

You will get there! I was a tip-toe walker as a child and as a result I have very tight calf muscles and a limited range of motion in my feet. I'm very comfortable wearing heels but flats can be a painful problem.
The first 2 weeks of R25k were pure agony, I stretched in between every bout of running (I had to for forgo all the walking parts). I was in so much pain and thought I would have to give up the programme. I decided to push through and unbelievably in the 3rd week I saw a huge improvement. Starting Week 9 tomorrow and my painful calves are a thing of the past (holding on to my heels though!).
Hang in there and all the best!
