Was anyone overly intimidated moving from Week 4 to Week 5??

I have to admit that the prospect of having to run for a full 20 minutes next week seems overwelming... I am honestly feeling terrified... I kept telling myself, believe.... believe in the program... but I am hoping I just won't have myself mentally defeated before I even get there. I am just wondering if this is a natural feeling right now, in that others have been there, but done that!!

Oh yes! very natural. Have a read through the blogs. I am one run away from week 5 run 3 and I am terrified. But having read the blogs, everyone is achieving it.

We can do it! x

I think that's very natural as it's the first long run. The programme does work so you'll be fine. Top tip is to reduce your pace so that you can last the distance...if you have any energy left you can always speed up at the end.

My other top tip is to plan your route....don't get caught out with an unexpected hill right at the end (that's what scuppered my first attempt - poor planning lol).

Good luck to you both :) :)

As above, everyone fears this week, especially R3, but it is amazing how r1 and 2 prepare you for 3. Check out the blogs for confirmation that everyone gets through it and go out with confidence.:) Oh, and let us know when you've done it :)

I start week five on Saturday- and to say I'm nervous about the end of the week would be an understatement! But we'll all get through it, I'm sure! If this program has taught me anything, it's that with a bit of grit I can do any challenge it puts in front of me. :)

Best of luck! I'm sure you'll get through it before you know it!

Oh yes!! I still remember walking out of the front door nearly in tears because I was so anxious about it, and the same on coming back and knowing that I had done it! Its a great feeling when it happens and you can do it, maybe we should 'enjoy' the anxiety if it makes us run for longer....

I did this run on Tuesday & believe me you CAN do it! Laura has prepared you physically & by reading the blogs, everyone here will prepare you mentally. Go with a positive mental attitude & you will conquer it! Good luck & banish those negative thoughts back to the couch!

Oh yes, see my blog from earlier in the week! I have the big W5R3 run to do in the morning, but now I actually think I can do it.

This is EXACTLY the post I was looking for! I am doing my week 5 run 5 tonight and slightly concerned about how I can go from running 5 minutes last week to running 20 minutes this week. I do believe in the programme though as a month ago I couldn't run for 30 seconds and now I breeze thorugh 5 minutes! Good luck to you x
