There seem to be a few out there, but I didn't quite know where to start... I'd like to be able to know how far I'm going, and preferably include paths, not just roads - any recommendations?
Thanks!

I've been using RunKeeper.com to map my routes purely because I use the accompanying app on my phone whilst I'm running but the website does allow you to create routes.
Helpful thing I find is that once you've planned your route (it tells you the distance as you go) that once you've hit save, it also shows you how hilly it is on a neat little graph.
It works with Google Maps so as long as Google have the paths on their system, runkeeper will use them.
I use walkjogrun.net....and it's FABULOUS!!!! Really, try it. You can look at other people's routes, or make your own. You can toggle it to either KM or miles, and save each run to a diary....
I us MapMy Run - easy, you can follow paths and it gives you distances, elevation, and speed - or lack of it!
Goodrunguide. you can use to map runs free...does cost £10 a year if you want to do more but you can try out for free! This site does it all for me! (log book/lots of nice stats, planning routes, shared routes.....)
I use Goodrunguide.co.uk which is free for the first month then costs about £10 a year. Also walkjogrun is good too(Free) but not as good as GRG. I seem to be bothered by loads of adverts since regstering with it which is becoming annoying.
Great, thanks very much! I'll have a look through and see what works for me
