How do you plan your routes?

Ok so am up to Week7 run2 tomorrow and wondering how you all plan where to run?

So far I have been running the same route but am getting bored.

I’m nervous that if I try somewhere different it won’t be long enough or won’t be suitable path etc.

Should I just stick to what I know or be brave and try somewhere new?

I use os mapping so I can plan a route and see distance, elevation and where to go next. Then it's the job of trying to remember where/which way when I set out! Especially if I want to go phone-free.

I also used google maps to look at my local streets to see links I didn't know where there. In the beginning I stayed close to home looping around some areas twice or even three times if need be to increase distances.

I tend to do my steady run on mon after weekend (due to bit of alcohol n treat night) weds i step it up a bit, then give it everything on the fri or sat. Everykne is different with work, shifts etc but this suits me.

That’s great, yes I’m happy with when I run, it’s where I run I meant.

I have tended to stick to the same route up to now as I love it but am trying to look for other places to run just to change it up a little, so think I need to map out some new routes 😃

Have you had a go at your local park run? I went to watch one this morning and going to give it a go next saturday.

I haven’t yet... that’s great food for thought though, will have a look and aim for that 😊

I’ve googled 10k routes near me and then ran part of them, also googled local bike tracks near me. They’re good.
