Hi,

I'm wanting to get a watch under £50.00 that can tell me how far I have run and how many calories I have burned. Suggestions please ;)

Hello, the best option to get is the nike plus sports band, it will give you pace distance time and calories you burn during your run, it is priced below 50.00, it works best with nike or adidas shoes as it uses a chip funtion and they have a hole in the shoe for the chip, if you have another brand of trainer you can buy a shoe wallet to hold the chip,, hope this has helped.

Other option is ,if you have a smartphone, is to download one of the running apps like runkeeper or endomondo which track your route via GPS. Some (I think) give feedback on calories.

Seconding this suggestion: I use runkeeper on every other run- it tracks how far you've run, what your average speed is and how many calories you've burnt. I'm not a big computer-whizz, so I haven't a clue quite how it does the last two given it's in my pocket for the entire run, but it works quite well.

You can also program the weekly runs into it- it's not as encouraging as Laura, but you can listen to your own music plus it likes to tell you every time you've run a kilometre (it also tells you your average run time). I'll be switching to it completely once I've stopped doing intervals and I'm onto the longer runs myself.

If you've got a smartphone, it's a free app- so certainly worth five minutes of your time. It might save you fifty pounds!
