Me sulking? Umm . . . yes.

So pleased with myself - overslept this morning and then whining to myself about how late it would be by the time I got to the park and ran and came home again. Still whining when Laura said Ready to Go? and I said NO and turned my shuffle off and had a sulk. I walked for 15 minutes to get warmed up and then started running. Did week 9 run 1 and managed my 30 minute run, and then kept going. Did 3.1 miles in 39 minutes which is my best so far and at the end of an hour managed a little bit of faster running and was very proud of myself. The best bit of the run was a proper runner going past me so fast I nearly got blown over by the rush of air, I was thinking Oh God he must think I'm such a slowpoke and be laughing at me all the way round. But when he ran past me the second time, he shouted hello, and then said over his shoulder, It gets easier you know. He told me to just keep at it, and it just cheered me up enormously and inspired me to try harder. When I started this every time I saw another person I had to stop and wait until they had gone which made things really hard. Now I don't give a stuff who sees me doing what, and I am so much more confident. If I saw Laura I would give her a hug. Anyone who is struggling - keep going, it's totally worth it. I slept for nearly 8 hours last night for the first time in probably 15yrs, I feel amazing and for that reason alone I am going to keep running as much as I can.

Amazing about your sleep and your run. Good attitude. I'm with you - I just don't care anymore what other people think - i'm doing this for me. Hoorah!

That is an awesome story. (Also, a great time! Way to go with the 5K in under 40 minutes.) I love that this friendly stranger went out of his way to cheer you on. I think deep down inside, that is how most of us feel. We all want everyone to succeed and enjoy the same things we do. Enjoy the rest of week 9!
