I feel that when I run slower that I am not streching my legs enough, difficult to explain but it feels like I need to strech them out more and they seem to ache more when running slower on the other had my legs feel better when I run faster but my stamina goes.
Any ideas?

So do you think I should go with a faster run that makes my legs feel better but cant keep up for long of slower run that makes my legs ache as my stride does not feel long enough?
They do say your legs take their que form the arms, if you pump them a bit faster you will go faster so that makes perfect sense!
Slimta - how much do you move your arms when you run? If it's small movements like your legs maybe try moving them a bit more and see if your legs follow

If you haven't finished with the programme I would concentrate on what you feel comfortable with speed wise that will get you to the end of the run.
Otherwise I have been concentrating on shorter faster runs lately myself and have found it has maybe taken about 5 weeks to start noticing a good improvement in my speed (I have also been working with a dodgey ankle). Once I am happy with my speed I am going to start upping the distance very gradually to see what affect that has.
Feel like you're running from the knee down? That's how I've felt for a long time. After speaking to my running club leader about it, I'll be starting speed sessions from next week. He said many women runners do it so doing speed sessions is a good idea. The theory is being fast requires sprinting and that requires the whole leg to move. I shall see how this pans out on Monday
