Does anyone else suffer from heavy and painful legs on the dreaded hormone week? Now I'm getting on to the regular long runs I was just wondering if I should go back to intervals on those weeks as I can't imagine my legs carrying me for the full 25/28/30 mins - will this affect my ability to pick up the 25 min runs again when it's passed??

Question for the ladies....!
I almost asked this question myself a couple of weeks ago. I was only on week 3 at the time but I'd been doing really well up until then and then I had two runs where I just really struggled for no apparent reason. When I thought about it I wondered if it was hormone related. I will monitor the situation next month and see if the same happens again.
Hi MamaG,
I've found it's quite hard work motivating myself to get out the door when I'm in that week, but once I do get out I'm glad I have as it always improves the situation. I would say carry on doing the whole time as running but just go easy on yourself if you are in pain and go slower than normal. You might find that ten mins in you can pick up and go at your usual pace. I find the action of moving my legs energises me and takes my mind off the stomach pain etc.
