The Big Four-Oh

Nope, not my age; I passed that milestone umpty-ump years ago. This morning I ran for 40 minutes, and three seconds. They were hard, those 3 seconds. Map My Run tells me it was 6.2K. Well, that's OK (get me!!) but I want it to be more. Onward, ever onward!!

Very well done! Before you know it, you'll be entering for your local marathon! The word is that once you can do 6, you can do any distance - you have the basic level of stamina you need and it's just a case of keeping putting one foot in front of the other. That would be amazing, but so far the 6k mark has eluded me. I'll be interested to see if you find that the theory really works in practice

Thanks Malcy. I think there may be some truth in the "once you can do 6" position; I certainly felt I could continue. I read recently that "running is 50% physical and 100% mental" - that is certainly true!!
