no unfortunately not. my neighbour is doing it for the first time bless him. I feel proud to be able to run for thirty mins let alone hours! they all desverve a big cheer. whooooooooopie
I was entranced by Paula Radcliffe's record run a few years ago, what a run.
Watched it start to finish, awesome. You just kept thinking there was no way she could keep it going at that speed but she just kept going, broke everyone.
Did anyone see the brother and sister who are doing the marathon wearing stilts? Taking part in memory of their Mum. It was on Daybreak this morning.
They are hoping to set a new world record but think they could have trouble on the wet cobbles or round the water stations where plastic bottles are dropped on the ground. Also the girl said she couldn't have a loo stop!
Absolutely amazing and totally awe inspiring. I admire all those taking part and can only imagine the pain they will feel.....
Good luck to all.
I have gone up to the London marathon to cheer on my sister on three occasions in the last 5 years. It is a fab experience!
This year she and I are going up on a very early bus (6am) to watch (Fran has decided not to try for a place in the London marathon anymore preferring to try different smaller ones now and having also developed a taste for tough hilly trail type marathons eg Snowdon!) but we are looking forward to the day out and cheering on some of her running buddies.
Always watch. Always feel rather emotional and always wished I could run. Last year after completing C25k I watched it with a different feeling; one of huge admiration, knowing just what an almighty challenge and event in their lives it must be.
Usually watch it but wont see much of 2012's due to having to go out, but it'll be on any chance I get.
26.2 miles......that is a monumental achievement.
indeed it is
